Well we have now been open since the 1st June and everything is going well. It was a very small group of children for the first month, but most of our children and their families are now feeling more confident about their child returning to nursery and just about everyone has restarted and over the last two weeks we have even started having outdoor (indoor if the weather is bad) sports sessions with Adrian again.
Our main aim for these last two months has been helping the children re-establish nursery routines again and build their social skills.
At the beginning we had a few children who needed support to adapt to leaving mummy and daddy, but we can confidently say that all of the children are loving being able to play alongside their peers again.
Now some important information. As you will all be aware in our area there are local lockdowns being introduced as the r infection rate has gone up. Masks in public places have been mandatory for the last couple of weeks and following our latest risk assessment (I have been having to carry these out weekly) I would like to ask all parents if they want to come into the building to wear a face mask. When the children come into nursery one of us will meet you at the entrance door and take them into the building.
I feel that as we have already had three situations where parents have advised us that they have been in contact with a known covid-19 sufferer, this is the best way of keeping everyone safe.
Thank you all for your co-operation
